Paperlink uses a recurring subscription model. You choose a plan, pay monthly or annually, and your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. Only the team Owner can make changes to the subscription — other team members can view the current plan but cannot modify it.Documentation Index

Plans overview
Paperlink offers several plans, from a free tier to premium options with higher limits and advanced features. All plans include core document sharing, link management, and analytics. Higher-tier plans unlock additional team members, data rooms, custom domains, invoicing, accounting, and integrations like the Public API and Slack notifications. To compare plans and pricing, go to Settings > Team Settings > Billing & Plans and toggle between Monthly and Annual billing to see the pricing difference.Open billing settings
This page shows your current plan, billing period, next billing date, and a summary of your feature usage.
Subscribe to a plan
Browse available plans
On the Billing & Plans page, review the plans listed. Toggle between Monthly and Annually to compare pricing — annual billing includes a discount.
Free trial
If your team is on the Free plan and has never started a trial before, you can try a paid plan for 7 days without entering payment details.
When the trial ends, your team reverts to the Free plan automatically. No charge occurs unless you subscribe during or after the trial.
Each team gets one free trial. Once used, the option does not appear again.
Upgrade your plan
Upgrading moves you to a higher plan immediately. Paperlink calculates a prorated amount based on unused days from your current billing period, so you only pay for the time remaining.- On the Billing & Plans page, click Upgrade on the plan you want.
- Complete payment.
Downgrade your plan
Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep full access to your existing plan until then.- On the Billing & Plans page, click Downgrade on the plan you want to switch to.
- A confirmation screen shows the effective date.
Cancel your subscription
Canceling your subscription works the same as downgrading to the Free plan. Your paid features stay active until the end of your current billing period — after that, no further charges occur.- On the Billing & Plans page, click Downgrade on the Free plan.
- Confirm the change.
What happens to your data
When you downgrade or cancel, your data is not deleted.- Documents, links, clients, and invoices are preserved. Nothing is removed from your account.
- Feature limits apply immediately after the change takes effect. If your usage exceeds the new plan’s limits, you cannot create new items until you are within limits — but existing items are not deleted.
- Active sharing links keep working. Anyone with an existing link can still access the shared document after you downgrade.
Data is never deleted when you change plans. You can upgrade again at any time to regain access to all your content without limits.
